thanks guys for responding. My briggs and stratton engine is now running. I had a devil of a time getting spark, finally got it at a setting of .009" [air gap setting]. It runs great now. I was getting ticked because the new armature is non-returnable and I did not want to have bought a bad one. Thanks again for all suggestions, and no, it doesn't have a low-oil shutdown solenoid.
