if you dont understand the need for a "corporate identity" i.e. A LOGO, then you shouldnt be in business yourself.

Ok. Here's my take. With a name like "Barefoot Lawn", obviously, you are shooting for a "down-home" and natural "family atmosphere" of comfort and safety and pleasantness of the old connotation of "walking through nice grass in bare feet". Here is what I have pictured. I see the idea iof people out ON the lawn. It doesn't have to be a photo,...but try to come up with a "shadow" of perhaps a boy and a girl reaching and playing ball, like to catch it or something. You ever see action photos of two kids running or jumping as they're playing in a yard? well,...something like this, but in a solid silhouette (wow, did I just spell that right?) done in dark green.

How about a footprint with some grass integrated with it?

Grits has the idea but just have it under the feet as if only grows under a "BAREFOOT"

Im just curious...
I like the name, however I liked the name many years ago when "Barefoot Grass" was one of the "big-guys" in the lawn care industry. Are you trying to capitalize on some of the old name recognition?
Not being a a$$, I thought about using the name myself a few years back.

I agree.. The 2nd one is simple, and sharp, not too busy! The first one looks like a baby shower invitation!

I'm not judging any logos, I just wanted to suggest that you might try to find a graphics arts student who can design a great logo really cheap.

For a hundred bucks, you can get a great logo from designers who sell through ebay. A logo is a cost of doing business. If you can get it for free here, all the power to you, but don't expect it.

My vote Runners idea sounds like a cool 1 if you could make it work very unique.

I like Tee Wolfs, with one suggestion if I may, change the gray stripe to dark green, the one above it to light green and so. Then the foot prints can be light green in the dark green stripe. my two cents

Guys, sorry for the delayed response. Thanks to all that posted their ideas. All of you have some great ideas, and I really appreciate the time that you spent working on them.
I will contact the person with the logo that I would like to go with to line up a form of compensation.
Thanks again!!!

Also, what happened to the site that ran like a contest? You would send your request in, and several people would submit logos and compete for some sort of cash prize for the one who designs the best.

I don't think it is so much that I want to steal some name recognition, but I will say that it never hurts when someone recognizes your name because of another product.
I just really like the name, always have. When I started mowing grass in 1995 I was Barefoot Lawn Maintenance. Then I saw the trend, and all the lawn maintenance trucks coming, so I decided to go to lawn maintenance and new construction.
Sorry that I stole your name......

Not at all! That is why I suggested it. You have to think deeper (I'm not going to use the "outside of the box" expression). All the actual "barefoot" thoughts are just too surface. Give some deeper connotation that people will really think pleasant thoughts with for a LONG run. Stuff that sublimely tays in peoples' minds...without them even knowing it. Speaking of this,...incorporate some sort of thought of sunshine in it, as well. It has been scientifically PROVEN that even a PICTURE containing some sort of sunshine brings favorable thoughts (done with brainwave studies). This contributes heavily to this type of subliminal marketing.

I mentioned before about the connection with Barefoot Grass (one of the "big guys"). Everyone is helping come up with a logo, but I might be wrong, but dosen't this sound very simmilar to the actual logo that Barefoot Grass used in the late 80's early 90's. Wasn't their logo a silloette of a boy and or a girl running with a ball or kite or something??
Am I right or wrong?? Or.. maybe i blew up "Runner's" joke and now I have my "Barefoot" in my mouth, and im sorry!

Nope...You are eXACTly right. That is exactly what their logo was. Very effective, and very simple.
