Hey guys. I don't do irrigation, but I have a client that wanted to know if the estimates that she has received are accurate. She is is Maryland and she just told me that she has a 8 zone system.

Thanks for any help.

Did she get a quote for service or for an 8 station system?

How many estimates? And how close were they to each other? If the prices are all fairly close - within $100 - $200 of each other then that's pretty much the going rate for your area. Actual prices from someone outside your area are going to be useless since there are too many variables.

I want a hundred bucks to even think about the system :p

$15-$25/zone in this area is reasonable.

I still don't know what we are talking about. For a ten zone system... that would be $150-$250 for what?

I only start charging on 11+ zone systems, 10 zone systems and less I do for free

I send Jon all my small systems. The commute for him is horrific though.

Not to mention your plow. I heard they thought it was a terrorist bomb planting machine. :)

They do have a landmine blade for it, you just need to know who to talk to.

Harold,

We've been yanking your chain because your question is too vague. :)

Your thread title deals with maintenance of a system while some might relate to a new install. Which is it? Are you looking for an estimate on a service contract or a new 8 zone system installation?

Maintenance for 5 yr. old system, 20 yr. old system, lots of variables involved? Finished final winterizations, and booking installls already for spring of 2007, looks to be a Great start for 2007!

I think if I play my cards right, I might make around $100 this year.

Don't "OverEstimate" yourself.

:) Hey all. Thaks for "yanking my chain.. Sorry about the vague question. My client wanted to know what the cost would be to winterize a 8 zone sprinkler system.

I thought that I would ask on the site to let her know whether or not her estimates were in the right ball park.

So... any input would be appreciated...

Thanks,
Harold

Let's just say we can be selective with our clients...

I think I billed out $1000 by 10:00am one day last week blowing out systems (ours with QC and remote).

Think quality, not quantity.
