Hey fellas...I am new to the business...I will be part time...My fulltime job is working for Ford Motor Company in Kansas City...Ford gives us "plans" or "pin numbers" to give out to other people for an off the top discount of all new vehicles...If you are planning on buying a new truck PM me and let me know. You all are eligible for the X plan and I have plenty to hand out...not to mention I can get more from my co-workers...if you have questions just ask here on the thread...:usflag:

I've had a few people have questions re: the X plan...I'll try to explain what it is if you do not know.
Ford gives us employees a certain amount of pin numbers per year. These pins are given out to individuals as an added incentive to buy Ford products. The X plan is for friends and neighbors.
WHen looking for a new Ford vehicle ask the salesman for the X plan price. This price is set on each vehicle before it reaches the dealership. This is an automatic discount off of the MSRP. What is really great is that you will also recieve other incentives that are being offered at that time (rebates and special financing).
Example: (bases on employee discount) I purchases an 05 Explorer last year. MSRP was 35K. My employee plan made the price 30K. They were offering 5K rebates at the time. New vehicle bought for 25K!!! The X plan is roughly half of the employee plan, but not exact.
I hope this helps explain what the X plan is...If you have questions please PM me or post here so I can answer for all...thanks fellas...

Toasty...no, no bonus...they give us some shirts or coolers like that if we use them all...here in KC everyone knows someone who works at Ford so it's hard to get rid of them...I just know it's difficult sometimes in life and in this biz, and since I have several and can get a lot more from coworkers, I figured why not offer to all of you...this also goes for all Ford, Lincoln and Mercury products...

Can you combine plans? I get the Z plan. Can you get me the X plan to? I will be getting a ford in the spring.

no combos...the Z plan is the same as our A plan...the best you can get...it's the retirement plan...FYI: the best time to buy is in the fall, year end model rebates...

I don't need the truck this winter though (no money). I'm plowing with a skid steer. So when spring rolls around I will ready to purchase. I can't exactly wait till next fall to purchase. I want to get a '07 diesel as the '08s are about to come out. Hopefully they will be itching to get rid of them.

Do you have a ballpark number on how much it would take off on a crew cab F-250 Powerstroke?

the discount is usually a percentage...anywhere from 5-10%...just ask a salesman at a dealership and they can tell the exact price of any vehicle...sorry I can't be more helpful than that, but it's all I know...

I have a question. When I go into a dealership I make sure I have done my homework. I look up the dealer invoice price on the vehicle and all the options I want. I take this # and tell the dealer that is what I'll pay for the vehicle. I have read many times the the big 3 auto makers give the dealer back 3% of invoice price. So if this is true, on $40,000 truck the dealer would make $1200 if I paid the the invoice price (not a bad chunk of change). Now, usually what ends up happening is I settle on paying $200-$400 over the invoice price on the vehicle(the dealer has to make some money). Also, if I buy a vehicle for the business, they(ford, gm, dodge) will also offer $500-$1000 worth of aftermarket stuff such as toolboxes, dump bodies, and the like.
My question is this: Is the "x-plan" lower than the invoice price? Lets face it, I don't know of any dealers that will let a vehicle go for less than what they have to pay for it(invoice price). So in reality if the "x-plan" is not lower than than the invoice price, the "x-plan" is just a sales gimmick??
I do think it is nice that you came on LS and offered everyone the "x-plan", but will I really get a better deal than I can on my own??

all ferris...like I have said before it depends on when you buy...I personally have paid 10K lower than MSRP...I imagine that was lower than the invoice. Your best bet would be to ask the salesman the price of the Xplan of whatever vehicle you are looking at. X plan isn't the best deal, but it's still a deal that many could use.
Sounds like you would get a great deal either way...just trying to help...

I am able to buy on the X plan as well and have saved a ton of money in the past. WHen I bought my Mustang the had it marked up well over MSRP, I waited until I found the one I wanted and then told them I needed to know the X plan price. Saved almost 30% because of the extra markup they had. THe salesman was not too pleased because it cut out most of his commision, but it can be a great deal for you.
I have never heard of being able to give away x plans to people. THat is a very cool offer for you to be making!

a lot of those specialty vehicles (mustangs and whatnot) are marked up very high...X plans are for anyone...you just have to know someone who has them.

I am also able to use the x plan thru my full time job. I personally think it is great the incentive comes from the manufacturer not the dealer. Just recently I was pricing a focus for my daughter after I got the price "as low as the dealer could go" I told them about the x plan and It was 1800 lower. Still didn't buy it she'll need to keep her current car.

Last January, I bought a new F-150 V6 long bed with automatic and air conditioning and cloth seats for $15,094.66.
I am heading to the Ford dealership later today or tomorrow to buy two more 07's. I will post the price I pay here.
That price was Z plan pricing. My father-in-law retired from Ford.

What is the percent that can be taken off for the A-plan price?
I am able to recieve that.

stuffdear...the best plan...typically you pay around invoice...not msrp, but invoice...i say typically because it varies...the added bonus is that you get the going rebate right now, or whenever you buy...I noticed they have 250s with 4K rebate...that's 4K lower than invoice...percentage speaking the Aplan is usually more than 10 percent...the Aplan price is set on each vehicle, so just ask the dealer and they will tell your price...everything else is bonus money...

I bought 2 new 2007 F-150's today on Z plan. They both have automatic transmission with air and cloth interior. Price on each was $15,594.50 plus TT&L.

I sold Fords at Middlekauff Ford in Plano, Texas
the A-plan is the lowest price out there....I am 99% sure it is the same price that was offered during the "employee pricing" sales at the start of the year...it could have been Z-plan but I believe it was the A-plan price in the "employee price sales"
when you look at a Ford invoice you see MSRP (sticker) then there is "invoice price" below that.....this is the price that the dealer cuts a check to Ford for when they sell the unit....I believe 99% sure for accounting puropses a check is cut in that amount then Ford kicks back if necessary.....the money that Al Ferris mentioned is called "holdback" it is listed next to the invoice price to the left.....there is "dealer holdback" and I believe it is called "group holdback"
dealer holdback is for spiffs for moving so many units and so many of a certian type of unit ect......the dealer gets a part of it based on incentives
the group holdback is for advertising like when I lived in Dallas and Denton it was "North Texas Ford Dealers" and they advertise at Texas Stadium or have the commercials that list all 26 metro area dealers instead of a single dealer add.....I believe a single dealer can use some dealer holdback for their own adds as well
on down on the left of the invoice line you see the different "plans"
A-plan.....Z-plan ect.
when I sold Fords VERY few people were able to negotiate into the holdback....a great deal was 100-300 over dealer invoice
these days I might start at Z-plan and work up towards invoice....never paying over invoice unless it is a "hot car" which in reality no American car at a dealer will ever be....so I would wait a month until they are full up on the lot
all these prices are LESS the rebate....so as the origional poster said if you get A-plan you get it THEN a 1,000 rebate ect
so I would offer Z-Plan less the rebate on any car....especially a big fuel unpopular truck....maybe less.....the closer to the end of the year the better.....in 07 a new 06 is still a 1 year old truck....and the dealer paid taxes....opps!
it has been a while but i know A-plan is the invoice price minus all the holdback....and possibly a % off as well
Z-plan is also invoice - all the holdback and maybe a smaller % off or no % off invoice

I want to buy the new 2008 F450 which they will be taking orders for before the first of 07 (supposedly start production in the middle of December...of 06!). Now I am a Chevy man...always have been and this will be my first Ford purchase. I have two questions for you Ford Pro's out there:
If I have to "order" the truck, can I also use the "x" plan?
Is there any chance of getting the truck even CLOSE to invoice?
I have never ordered a truck exactly as I want it, but with the specs of the 450, I am willing to give it a try...as long as I don't get my feelings hurt at the time of purchase.
BTW...they are touting that it can tow 24,000 lbs and can have a GCWR of 33,000 lbs....what a BEAST! Here's a link for anyone interested:

I don't think you can use X-Plan on anything bigger than an F350. There are a very few vehicles that are excluded and I think an F450 would be one of them. Unless of course something has changed recently.
On a side note, I was up in Virginia over the weekend and a very small dealership in Brookneal was advertising that they sell all there vehicles at invoice. I've never dealt with them so they might just being blowing smoke. There is going to be very limited supplies when these new trucks hit the road, so it's probably going to be difficult to get anyone to bite at invoice on one right away. But it might be worth a shot.

I got 10k off my new chevy, plus they gave me the 8ft plow and paid my taxes and plates, and that was without any employee insentives, so I'd assumse it'd be even more with a a employee rebate.

That would be right you can't use a "A" or "X" plan on them. If you can't get a number from him Pm me I'll get you one.
