I'm building a 11 x 16 and was wondering about the landscaping around the pond.Any suggestions?I have a cuople of dogwoods in the area but one may need to be moved in order to see the waterfall from the deck.
Japanese Garden Junipers, ornamental grasses, ornamental tree (ie Sargent Crab), Ferns are all great plants for out side the pond.

Add to the list: Cannas, Jap maples, liriope, ferns, Azaleas, Spirea, burning bush. Much depends on sun or shade etc

Try locating some Minuet Weigella, Lillac on a standard, dwarf Burning bush. The grass's as noted earlier, keep your bush's small and use small ornamental trees like the crab apples, or we use alot of clump service berries or red buds. Use some lillies that are rebloomers. As a back drop try using some Red Twig Dogwoods that don't get to large and plant your grasses behind the dogwoods so in the Winter Months with the snow fall your client will look through the dogwoods (Red Stem)and into his grass so it will still be a good visual site in the dead of winter. Good luck
