to be careful. This happened yesterday afternoon about a mile from my house. He was the owner of the company and slipped off the trailer loading it on a hill.

Bobcat.....its always good for a "safety check" and a slow down and evaluate moment. Last winter I slipped and fell off one trailer onto the side rails of another trailer and broke a bunch of ribs. Not fun. A couple days ago, I was setting rock and looked onto the roof just as a guy slipped and slid and belly danced all the way to the edge of the roof and by the grace of god, caught something and saved his a@@. It was at least a 30' fall onto frozen ground....he came down and I gave him some coffee.....and me some too....it was a feeling of helplessness I did not like at all.

I have been working in the mud trenching this fall and it has been bad about caving off when i make connections ,so the thought of beening in the trench and caving is on my mind a lot.
Trench is 20" wide and 5 ft deep so not to much room to work.I usually spade the sides off when i cross the main trench so i have more room to work and when i do that i also slope the sides back a ways which in turn helps.
In the really wet and muddy places i backhoe them which is the best.Take care everyone!

the thing that makes it even more sad is that he was only 34. and he left behind a family. God Bless everyone, have a safe weekend!
