This is a nice setup and you did an excellant job. It still puzzles me why you guys don't simply mulch the leaves on one pass then use a simple bagger on the second pass? Do you think it takes longer to mulch/bag them?

I started the job by blowing around the edges of the property and places i couldn't reach with the mower, then mowed the lawn without the catcher just shredded the leaves, then mowed with the catcher and sucked up all the shredded leaves and finish by mowing perpendicular to before without the catcher so there would be some nice stripes left.

I love the sign on the mower. Your the first person I have ever seen do that. And that's a pretty nice leaf rig, you must be glad to have access to that, huh...

P.S.-how long did it take you to load that pile to the truck?

We dump all the leafs on the driveway and he sucked them up in 10 min. with the billy goat loader.

Peabody has a sweet leaf truck. It's huge. Everything looks great from the pics. Do you make any money when he helps you do the cleanups?

I know his truck is awesome. We do all the cleanup work and when i'm close to done i call him up and he just comes and suckes up the pile. Costs $50 for that size of a pile and i add the cost to the price of the cleanup. Total cost of the cleanup was $225 that also included a discount coupon from my fall cleanup flier.

Yea, The Walker would have done a sweet job on this lawn. When i was doing it i was think man i wish i had that walker right now. After i blew out all the leaves from behind the bushes and edges there were a ton.

I agree. We may not be seeing true "before" pictures, but with leaves this light mulching sure seems like the way to go. That being said... beautiful job and awesome truck.

That looks like a fairly large lawn. How much do you charge to mow that thing?

For those of you who asked why we didn't just mulch leaves into the lawn here's why: 70% of the leaves could have just been mulched but once we blew out all the leaves from the beds, edges, and behind the trees and shrubs there was way to much to just mulch. Most of the leaves had blown across the lawn and were stuck between the shrubs and fence at the far end of the property. I mowed over all the leaves first before picking them up.

Actually that isn't a regular client, I was recommended to them by one of my reg. clients. If i was mowing it on a reg. basis i'd charge $40 or $45.

Were right in the same ball park on the price again. If there is no front yard I'd get $45 but at least $50 if there's any grass out front or on other side of house

Here is a pic. of the front yard... hardly anything, 2 passes with a 48" and its ova'. Wicked easy property, totally flat hardly any obsticales. could be done in 40 min. tops. No other grass, only front strip and back yard, drive comes around the side and into the back.
I might get the neighbors property next season. When we were sucking up the leaves with the truck loader the neighbor came over and hired me on the spot to clean up their leaves after.

Man your diggin up some old threads. LOL

Yes i was extremely more efficient this past fall. Good memories though. Always room for improvement but it was amazing how much i improved this past year with new equipment and 2 or 3 helpers. We were goin gang busters compared to 2 years ago.

I apologize, I obviously slept through my two years of Spanish...anyway, the point I was trying to make is that the dudes statement whom I quoted in my first post made no sense.
