Well today I went and bought a new truck cause mine was totaled after I got into a accident 3 weeks ago. I couldn't tell you how many trucks I went and test drove and out of all of them this one seemed the nicest to me. I am very picky at what I buy and want it to have everything I want in it or I won't even bother looking at it. I went and looked at some a couple hundred miles away that were cheaper but they were beat up and wasn't worth me paying for it. Well here is the verdict, I bought a 2001 Ford F-250. Below is a picture of it at the dealer lot off their website, I will take more pictures of it Thursday night or Friday morning when I go to pick it up. I drove it and it performed pretty well. My dads company uses the same trucks with boss 8'2" vee plows on them and they seem to push the plow pretty well. No snow plow for me this year since this wiped out my bank account, but next season she will have a new boss 8'2" vee plow on the front and a sno-way 9cuft salt spreader in the back:weightlifter: .

the back of the truck. I was going to put my DMI hitch system on this but its to much of a hassle to to put it on.

the interior of the truck. I love having vinyl floors, I won't ever go back to to carpet cause my guys spill pop and coffee all over the floor and never tell me so that is why I love the vinyl floors just wipe them down and don't worry about it. And also it has a bigger center arm rest with storage in it.

Yea, I was going to buy a 5.4 but they didn't seem to have enough power. Plus the v10 will get better mileage towing over a v8. Even the 03 and 04 f-250/350's don't have enough power, my 5.8 had more power then them.

Dont you love how your mower cost about the same as your truck! I got the 2000 f 250 v8. Vinyl seat but pretty close to what you got. Good trucks. I'm actually looking to buy a f450 or f550 once 07 comes.

Yea lol, I was going to buy one with a vinyl seat also but then again I thought to my self and said this is personal truck too. This is what I wanted and I am very happy with it I love my new truck:weightlifter: . Are you going to get an 07 diesel 450/ 550? If so I would hurry up and get a left over cause the cost of diesel engine made after 1/1/07 will cost $7,000 more then they do now.

? I dont know yet. Whatever I can get a better deal on. I will buy used if I have to but not more than 2 years old. There is nothing in my area right now. I've been searching dealer inventories for 3 months now. The only ones I'v found have been recked or have a lift bucket in the back of them. I did find an 05 550 with a utility box on it right now. Dont know the price online so I may call them soon. Its plowing season now so there are not alot of quality trucks out there right now. Yea I bought vinyl cuz its not my personal truck. Mainly a work truck. I like driving my wifes 06 envoy denali better anyways

My dads company has had nothing but good reviews on them. Yea I would rather have more power and torque and still get the same mpg as a V8 engine. But thanks, I think I got a good deal on it and I'm happy with it. I was going to get a 5.4 just like this but I drove the v10 before the 5.4 and it just seemed gutless to me. Yes I am putting a boss 8'2" vee plow on it for next season cause of money is tight right now. My dad knows the boss dealer owner pretty well and told me $4,800 for a new 8'2" boss vee plow with deflector and hand held control, So I plan to go install it in august so I can beat the waiting list. I have used my dads company trucks and the have boss vees on them and they are a nice unit, the best part I like about boss is the vee plow hand held control is easy to use.

That would be really nice. I've always liked Boss plows and heard good things about them but have never owned one maybe someday. I've got the same ideas f-350 or f-250 reg. 8ft. bed, dump insert, and Boss plow.

Yes they are good plows. If your planning on running a dump insert get a F-350 gasser so you can have more weight in the dump insert over a f-250. I went with the F-250 cause I don't plan to put a dump insert in this truck.

I would pass on that that truck cause of having a short bed, By the time you put a tool box in the bed( if you do put one in it ) you will eat up alot of bed space. If it was going to be used a personal truck yea I would get it, but for work you want an 8ft bed. The price isn't that bad, I almost got a 2001 ford 250 regular cab XLT 4x4 with the 7.3 diesel 70,000 miles for 13,000 but the dealer was 150miles away and wasn't returning my phone calls and so I went three days talking with this dealer about and was going to sign the deal but he wasn't that good of a dealer I thought, not a very good business man. Yea I know how them fights go, I was having them too. Bought my first truck at 14 cause my dad and I needed it for work, my mom wasn't to happy.

I don't know if I would go black, it's to hard to clean. I had a hunter green truck truck which looked black if the light was just right, and had to go wash it everyday cause I like to keep my things clean when I go to a job site. If I were you I would try and find a white one, you can find them pretty cheap since white is almost standard for company vehicles so every couple years you will see a bunch of vehicles on the lot that are white. Or even go to an auction, I almost a got 2001 white diesel 250 with 70000 miles for 13,000 booked well over 21,000.

Yea the V10 has lots of power, that is one reason why I went with it cause the 5.4 had power but not the power I wanted plus the V10 will get the same or better mpg over the 5.4 towing.

Nice truck, although I have not heard anything good about the V10's I hope it works out for you. Also, what made you go with the V10 over a 7.3 stroker?

I agree with what you are saying about the shortbed, except I think it would be really almost to long to drive a extended cab, long bed truck with a 20ft trailer through town all day long.... I am probably going to go with the extended cab short bed because I really never put anything in the bed of the truck anyhow (thats what the trailer is for)....

btw, I took the bed cover off my truck and put a tool box in it.. now I just want to buy a paint in bed liner..

All I have heard about the v10's are they are great motors and get better gas mileage over the 5.4. The reason why I didn't go to the 7.3 or the 6.0 is I didn't want to take the risk of waking people up during the night when plowing. Yea if it is just going to be mainly used a personal truck, I would of gotten the ext cab short bed but I used all 8ft of my bed with my tool box and still can get 3 yards of mulch in the bed. Kern's gave me a free bed liner but in the spring I am going to go get it line X. That F-150 you saw me driving is what I will probably be getting next year as my personal truck but only in silver. I bought this one mainly for a work truck, it hauls three guys good and still have an 8ft bed. And also this v10 will get better gas mileage over the v8 towing, so I would rather get better mpg towing and have more than enough power.

I like the chevy 2500hd diesel with the Allison trans, but it is not cheap. If I were you I would have searched for a good deal on a used 3/4 ton pickup; Or I would have tried to talk pops into selling me one of his old trucks with a plow already installed.
Also, I would not have spent $11,000 on a mower (yes, I'm sure it's NICE) at the end of the season if it was going to prevent me from plowing snow during the winter. I'm pretty sure (not positive though) that you could have spent about half of what you did to buy a mower that would have been able finish off the year. If you had waited on getting your ''Cadillac" of a mower, you could have easily paid for a plow, and at around 35ish? inches of annual snow fall, you could have made some good money this winter. -JMO-

Your right, I just had that truck on my favorites with many others, and posted it on here. Although I still don't care that much about it if I did get a 6FT bed for my purpose.

Yes, I am hoping to get a diesel next year, the resale is alot better on them then on gas, I have figured for what I pay on it, and when I go to sell it in 2010-2011 (which is when I plan to sellout) that the diesel will still be worth over $12k if I don't run up a ton of miles on it.

I really haven't made any decisions on the expensive diesel trucks vs cheap gas trucks battle. Although diesel's hold their resale really well and run forever, and the Allison transmission is indestructable.

But all I want to do is pull a trailer with it, and still drive the truck hard... so for what I do it should work fine..

hey qualitylawnmangment are you from the lima area? Good looking truck. I just picked up a 06 f350 6.0 and it is a good truck. I also drove the v10 and it was a good engine but got a better deal on the 6.0. Let me know were you are planning on getting your boss plow from that seems a little high priced.

Yea I am in Lima, Ohio. We are you located? Thanks, it is a nice truck I like it alot so far can't wait till next winter to push some snow. This truck smoked more than half of the cars at my school so far:weightlifter: . Yea I almost got a 6.0 but I am only going to be running one mower next year so it was no need for but if I was hauling more then just this yea I would of bought one. As of what my guy at the dealer is telling me this is good deal, I will probably end up getting it cheap tho because we are running in threw my dads work. I plan to mount my boss 8'2" vee and Boss 1100 salt spreader on this in august then it will go into my new building I am working on with my sister boy friend.
