Nice, it looks like you could sell them on a power wash job.

Nice job! I bet the neighbors are very thankful.:)

12-06-2006, 09:41 AM
that looks like a job I've got comming up here. I dont know how people can let places get that bad...

12-06-2006, 06:21 PM
very fancy...how much did you charge for that job, if you dont mind?

12-06-2006, 06:56 PM
This guy is a retired school teacher and georgia tech graduate, a really nice guy.
There are just some people out there that are wired differently.
The cleanup was 4800 the gravel and mulch was 4800 and the fence was 4200.
It took a week on the cleanup, one day on the gravel and mulch and a week and a half on the fence.
The inside of that house is just as nasty and stinks so bad you can not get closer than 10 feet to the door when it's open.
The county got after him about the place, I think they were going to condem it if he didn't clean it up.
I added a good bit to the cost just because of the working conditions.
after all this we got a once a weekly upkeep contract for the year. The neighbors said it had not been cleaned up in 25 years.

I dont understand the gravel? Why no lawn.

12-06-2006, 07:09 PM
He did not want anything to grow, Little or no maintenance.
So we had it sprayed by scotts and graveled the whole are to prevent a mud hole.
The mulch area is to kinda soften the look and give his dogs a place to go.
He just drives his truck into the backyard and backs it up to the door.

Looks amazing, great job hell of a flip.

12-06-2006, 07:20 PM
This is the kind of guy that really fits into society nicely...huh. Guess he wanted the big fence so he can start accumulated stuff without being seen. Our city beat a guy into the ground on a similar problem and eventually they leveled the home....big time legal battle.

Here is a couple of my pics from this year, not completley finished, but you get the idea.

12-06-2006, 08:27 PM
Wow, hell of a turnaround! Looks nice. I love the gravel idea... no mait. and you can litterally park right up by the door. I dont see how people can let a property get in such bad condition though to begin with. He should live in the sticks if he wants to live like that, IMO. My uncle is no differnt though, actually worse. But he does live in the way out in the sticks. Feel dang sorry for whoever inherits my uncle's place as they will have a MAJOR cleanup to do, but a LOT of it will be in the form of scrap metal ($$$$$). The scary thing is, I might be the one that inherits the mess:(

The only thing you could do with this place is toss a match on it when he passes.
Like I say he's a really nice old guy and if you saw him on the street you would never know how he lives, unless you were next to his pickup!

Nice big house and yard grassmanak, what all did you do?

I dont understand the gravel? Why no lawn.

I've seen properties that are all bark mulched. I prefer grass myself.

Nice big house and yard grassmanak, what all did you do?

Neither houses are mine, just customers. Mostly just mowing, but will take on a landscape job here or there.

12-07-2006, 07:03 PM
Man, what a DUMP! Looks 110% better now! It's amazing how sloppy, messy and dirty people can let things get..unbelieveable! :dizzy:

12-08-2006, 06:27 PM
I'm kinda surprised the guy actually shelled out the dough. With a place like that I would most likely have asked for half up front. How did you approach it (1/3, 1/3, 1/3)? Just curious. Great job!!

Here is one of ours from this year. The back is a huge hill.:dizzy:

i personally would never let my place look like that but, i think that is a personal choice and i get pissed when some city/county employs tell me what to do with my property. if you own it and pay your taxes then it is your disision to do what you want to do with it.

12-08-2006, 10:33 PM
mostly work from this year.

first 2 are a small sod job, sod isn't very common in this area.

12-08-2006, 10:56 PM
We always get 50% up front, we have been burnt twice so now we would rather walk away than do it for free or have to chase after the money.
As for the county telling him what to do, it was a health hazard for the neighborhood.
Pictures just can't do justice to the smell of this place.

Here are a few pics from a few jobs over the last 30 days....This is a island we created in this homeowners back yard...In the photo is my head operator and 2nd team Foreman....Quaility guys are hard to find, and he is a diamond.....I snapped the before photos, left to go pick up a few supplies and do a few estimates for about 2 hours, came back and my guys were packing up ready to go. I didnt even get my hands dirty until the next job....lol....

12-14-2006, 09:32 AM
Here are some photos of Black Mulch around the home and trees.....I try to coordinate the mulch color with the trim (i.e. Doors, shutters, etc....) I have done some many jobs using Black Mulch....will post more photos of more black mulch jobs with flower and so on later.....the last two photos are of some shrubs we installed....and take a look @ that green grass.....Rye Grass over-seeded in Bermuda....Both neighbors are tan.....

12-14-2006, 09:37 AM
more.....This homeowner in the 1st 2 pics insisted they wanted Red mulch, so I delivered....even though it still looks great, I wanted to use Brown, because I used Red on both his neighbors....Now all three of them have Red Mulch beds.....;) ........last 2 pics are kinda cool, they are some pics of my beginners work....
