For anyone curious in the use of optical lenses for bullet type lights, Cast has just added some additional information and renderings to their site.

I have found this very useful for designing a lighting plans effects.

Does anyone use optical lenses regularly and have any before and after photos of the effects they create. Now all we need is for someone to come up with colored filters and we all can use the installed systems for holiday lighting. My supplier tells me they have heard of red & green MR16 lamps in 50 watt, but haven't been able to get them.

Hi Kirk.

I been using the Cast lenses and they do help. I will try and take some photos soon. I been reading about the ushio Popstar bulbs which come pre colored. We did use some colored dichronic filters on a home for christmas alternating red and green.

The ushio bulb lineup which I have not used yet looks like it can eliminate the use of frosted or colored lenses altho it looks like they are only avalible in 4k bulbs.
