View Full Version : "Catch Phrases!"
Ocean Side

Just wondering what others are using for a catch phrase to help people remember you. An example that I have seen on lawnsite "the number 1 green industry forum on the web!" would be " We make the dirt look good! "
Whats yours?

I think a great name is better than a phrase IMO., However, if I had to come up with a phrase, I mean if I absolutely was forced to do it as part of my job it would be this.........
#1. The best MOW JOBS this side of Arizona.
#2. If you're happy when we MOW IT clap your hands.
#3. One MOW reason to choose our company.
#4. Don't have much dough, but really need a MOW?
#5. There is no reason you shouldn't have a MOW this season.
My new ad: Feeling older and slower? Getting harder and harder to push that mower? Grandkids don't come around, need the cheapest mow in town? Is it your budget thats got you down, yet you still want the best mow in town? Look no further....MOWIN' grass is our specialty. Making your house the nicest on the block is easy, just pick up the phone and call A-Z.
#6. There's no business like MOW business.

There is a guy around here that has some pretty funny suff on his truck. One is "Hoeing aint easy" and "We'll trim your bush" he has a few more that are pretty funny also. He does pretty good to. I would have thought that would have turned some away but I guess he doesnt want that type of customer anyway though.

2)Why would you want to be the cheapest mow in town?

It asked for catch phrases. I was just doing my part. No need for catch phrases. Just havin fun. If I charge $5 bucks a lawn and make a profit then I would certainly be the cheapest...right?
And who's to say I wouldn't or couldn't make their lawn look the best for that price?
There are several VERY POPULAR companies who are well known for being the cheapest around "AFFORDABLE GUY" affordableguy.com and this company is not hurting for work...in fact, they are one of the busiest lco's around.
For the record....if Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder opened a lco, whether they charged $5 or $500 for the cut, it would still look the same.

This Affordable Guy's "Gold Package" says his package includes 26 cuts starting at $9.99 a cut! I realize the catch word is "starting" at ... but I wouldn't even pull my trailer over there for $9.99 ... let alone take a piece of my equipment off of it! Come on ... $9.99? Leave that job to the local kid who wants to make a buck after school using his dads Craftsman push mower and his dads gas.

Ya, "affordable guy" have to be very busy to make any money.
Ray and Stevie, if they started an LCO, would not do the actual work themselves, so how does that comment make any sense at all?

I actually used this line in the local classified paper last year..I owe I owe, that's why I need to mow..your yard.. then last fall I used this one...Yard covered with leaves? Then give me a call! Then ist back relax and watch some football.
and I also used this one..Does climbing a ladder make you shudder? Then jut call me and I'll clean those gutters....you know, I actually had some dumb fool call me thinking that I NEEDED someone to clean up MY leaves and MY gutters... I told him if he was looking for work, I could keep him more than busy for the rigt price with my equipment... he was not interested.

Need Grooming and Trimming ???
No job to small
that's a good one. i've often gotten my foot in the door on a small job that the bigger guys gave a bid on, had the bid accepted and then they blew the small job off. the smaller jobs often lead to bigger jobs. the customer doesn't care if the big guys are too busy. they just want the job done. and often they are willing to pay a premium price for it.

"Make your lawn & landscape the ENVY of the neighborhood"
