That trucks a gonner. You won't ever get it truly clean.
I used to do that only I used a beatup CJ7, they look natural with mud all over them.
Trust me, you'll still be finding grit in 5 years.

I bet he put a bag or something over his lightbar so it wouldn't get covered in mud.

Its the same color as the truck so you should say texture. Instead of getting LineX he got Mudx.:cool2::laugh: Don't forget to post some pics. after you clean it.

I have no idea why somebody would want to beat up something that they probably worked hard to get... or work to make payments on. I guess boys will be boys... it will be an expensive lesson.

Ever bought tickets to a sporting even, fun costs money, and my trucks just fine, are you seriously scared to get your truck a little dirty, sure maybe down the road something will be effected on my trucks performance by this, but I'm sure using my truck for towing and work it will be effected in a bad way also.

Well I am just speaking of my experiences. When I was 16 I did the same thing except my truck wasn't that nice. I had many bearing failures, 4wd problems, etc. To get that much mud on the truck you have to be flying through some mud... that will tear some stuff up. Sporting events cost a couple hundred or less... truck repairs can get very very expensive. At least when you are towing or hauling you are getting paid.

Looks SWEET! I REALLY want to get an old POS mid 80s 4x4 half ton Chevy to do stuff like that with. It IS bad for a new truck to do that, which is why I want an old beat up one. Get a $1000 truck, run it to hell and back, you can still probably sell it for close to what you paid.

Ok maybe i was a little wrong to take this one off road at her age and current condition , but there's no snow and up were losing our minds playing the waiting game up here!!!

If ya wanna do some LEGAL wheeling you guys should come check out the Mounds ORV park. It is in Mt Morris. We go wheeling every weekend. I see you guys are from Michigan. Should check out WeGotMud.com and GreatLakes4x4.com

But I would suggest ya dont say anything about illegal wheeling on those sites.....they will let ya know how they feel.

In my opinion, there ain't nothing wrong with doing it once or twice with a nice truck, that's just expected. Just be sure and spend some time underneath it with a power washer and get everything you can. There is no doubt that when I get my 4x4 motor fixed in my Ranger that it will be off road a little bit. I really hope to get a old POS truck next year, and use that when I get the urge to go mudding.

IMO, theres nothing wrong with a little bit of fun. Keep it in moderation and all should be ok.

I wish my older f-150 was a 4x4 because I would be beefing it up to take it out for some fun.

Chris, how long did it take to get the truck all cleaned up?

2WD can still be fun in certain situations, not the ones like in the pic above. Just make sure that you have a come-a-long and tow strap.

Nice truck......but Id be looking for a $1000 beater to take to the mounds......alot more fun than something ya have a lot of money into. I take my DD to the mounds sometimes.......but I have alot more fun when I take the $400 S-10 out there.

That truck is too nice. Like PowersTree said, the cheaper they are the more fun they are to beath the snot out of. If you are handy you could almost get one for free that isn't running. That is how I got my first mudder.

I think thats a bit much to spend. I would look for something that is somewhat stock (and dirt cheap) and do the work myself to save some cash. Truck does look nice though.

Here's my Dakota with a little mud!! Not quite as much as your 4 door dakota.
I've had a lot of problems with my truck since I've owned it. Weird things like the a/c evaporator dripping down into the transmission dipstick and having to flush out the fluid MANY times. It seems to be running fine now.
