Engine change

I have a walk bihind with a blown engine. Saw a craftsman mower for sale with a Kohler 15 hp, that is what was on the mower i blew up. Would this engine likley be compatable, or is it somehow less powerful?

You really need to look at it closer. You may want to get the model numbers off of both engines and call a kohler dealer to see if they're compatible.
