i was thinking on getting a 7x16 enclosed trailer for my fert. business in it would be a perm a green and a z spray with no more then a ton of fert.
does this sound realistic?
will a 03 f150 /6cy. tow it?

how about sell for a larger truck? you'll kill the 150

what about a smaller trailer and load? prob have to make more trips which puts me back to my first sentence

a work truck for this industry really needs to be a 2500/250 +

No problem, The most your gonna be pulling is 4500 lbs. Plus as the day goes on it will only be getting lighter. I pull 5000 lbs every day with my 6 banger. Put on the tow haul and I can still keep up with traffic. If I'm in a hurry put her to the floor and away we go. BUT, that's why you lease a truck. No worries. But seriously, I don't think you'll have any problems and ford probally says it can tow 6000 lbs since the V8 can tow 9900 lbs.

I don't think so, a ton is 2,000lbs + a 7 x 16 enclosed trailer (2,140 plus) + a perma-green + a Z-spray. Not to mention the nurse tank he'll need for the Perma-green and the Z-spray.
I wouldn't touch that with a six banger, not if it was my truck. My chevy with a 5.7 ltr 350 wouldn't like towing that neither would my ford 5 ltr 302. Enclosed trailers are very heavy. Curb weight for a 16' Pace is 2,140lbs, Haulmarks are a little higher.
I recommend at least a 6 liter and the ideal would be a diesel.

You could get by for a short time but it would not be a good idea for a long term set-up.

5.4 v8 might be up for the job, it was be equite a job for it. It would kill the 4.2 v6.
