I got a letter from Five Star Capital--Fraud Prevention Services. Asking me to call a number and confirm because I had not activated an Equipment Lease Card.
I was a little suspicious because I had not asked for any such card. Also the cheap paper letterhead did not even have the company's address on it--no phone, fax, email or website. The letter bears no signature.
I looked it up on Google, and such a company exists, but they are a broker of complex sub-prime lease buyback arrangements.
Several people made negative comments, and mentioned that the BBB had many outstanding complaints.
Anybody else get a similar letter?
