Pressure Washers for Cleaning Eqpt

My pressure washer gave out yesterday and I am in the market for a new one. Does anyone use a steam cleaner and is is better over what I had (4000 psi machine, cold water)? I am considering buying a steamer and would like to know new or used, Ebay or dealer, what brands and options to buy or avoid. Oh, I will use it to clean mowers, skid steers and tractors.
