I am looking at buying a 94 f250. It is my understanding that the engine is a 5.8 litre 351. But the pics I have of the truck have the factory dual exhaust behind the right rear wheel. I thought only the 460 had the dual exhaust from the factory like this. Am I correct or not.
Thanks

Its pretty easy to tell by looking at the engine or are you buying this truck from ebay ?

Have you have a link to the VIN number ?

I had a 5.8 with twin exhaust so it is possible.

Well if you had one then it probably is correct. I just haven't ever seen a twin exhaust that wasn't a 460. Thanks for the help

I don't I want the 351. There is no sense in getting the gas guzzler. If I wanted the power I would get the diesel before I would get the 460.

Ford made three 351 V8s

The first two a 351 C Cleavland, and a 351 M Modified
both of which are big block engines, nether were used after 1979

The third a 351 W Windsor which is a small block
and is what this truck would have if it's got a 351 in it.

The 351 M (modified) was available through like 81 or 82, 83 was the first year for only being able to get the Windsor. In any event, the truck in question would definately have the Windsor. I'm not saying that the 460 gets good fuel mileage, my 93 gets 8-10 no matter what, loaded or empty. But you load down a 351, they'll be in about the same range, at least in my experience. Good luck with the truck.

Hi... I have a 94 with the 351M and the factory dual exhaust is behind the right rear tire... you may want to crawl under the truck and check out the
condition of the oil pan and the gas tank(s)... you dont want leakers...
