I had ordered 5000 postcards from gotprint.com on 1-10-07. $99 plus shipping...total $158.74. Full Color front and blank back. I am impressed. The quality of print is as good or better than vistaprint and the stock is a little better IMO. The set-up is a little more involved than vistaprint but well worth it(easy with the right program). You can not beat this deal. I highly recommend it. Team Green L&L had spoken numerous times about this company. I took his advice and he was 100% right on. BTW, 5000 postcards is a lot more than I was picturing!:) Can't wait to address them and stamp them. :dizzy:

I have looked over their free samples they send out ... and I too will be ordering from them. I've always liked post cards over door hangers ... though you can use the little plastic bags that are made to hang on doors. (like these --> http://stores.ebay.com/ZNNCREATOR (http://stores.ebay.com/ZNNCREATOR))
Let us see your finished product when it arrives!

I'm glad you were happy with your order! I have received my first order from www.hotcards.com and am pleased with them also. I also saved a penny off shipping because I'm on the east coast. Gotprint (Beard Printing) is a great company and I recommend them to all. FYI: They don't like to print a border on cards because of the cutting process. I had some with borders and they were not cut perfect (and you could tell).

Here are some of our old printings (and some new). The small flyers were printed by Kinkos and cost $250.00 for 500 sheets. That was pricy!
The door hangers and business cards were printed by www.gotprint.net
I would've liked thicker stock on the DH, but it was my fault for not ordering correctly.
The jumbo cards were printed by www.hotcards.com. I like them alot. The coating wasn't quite as thick as Gotprint, but the stock was great.
I will dig out some more and post them for comparison. We made a lot of mistakes in advertising.

Cant wait to see your mistakes before I print my new ones
Mistakes:
1. Our original logo was too intricate and hard to read.
2. KINKOS
3. 14px stock on door hangers...don't waste your money on those.
4. Pushing brand-awareness harder than "need for service" messages
5. Not sticking to a color palette
I could go on and on, but these are the money-costing ones I can think of.

.
Andrew... What paper did you use for your door hangers? The "standard" options that GotPrint give is 100lb Gloss Book and 100lb Gloss Cover. The gloss cover is thinker and I had them print my brochures with it, so I know what its like. Have you found it to be to "flimsy" for a hanger? Feeling my brochures I think it might be. I was thinking about getting them from 48hourprint because their standard is 12pt card stock. Thats much thicker.
Your opinion please.

From my understanding (and I'm not a printer) the 12 pt. stock is equivalent to 12 px or 120 lb paper. That would be thin. The 100 lb is too thin because of the wind. I use mine on displays now in different places.
Here's my take on it. The right stock for this application is too expensive for us to invest in with the expected returns, so it's just as good to use the thin paper (12 or 14pt).

i've been doing door hangers from doorhangers.com, bought 7500 of em for next spring..
so with the postcards, where do you get the addresses to mail them to? do u pay a place for a list of them or do you just look in the phone book and mail to everyone? my phonebook doesnt have zip codes.. that would be a pain to look em up.

TeamGreen, Where do you leave the stand? Also, where did you get it?
The displays are placed in many different markets (different). I can't give you all our strategies, but the people who will allow you to place a display will be looking at what you offer them in return.
Do you purchase all your materials from them (purchasing power)?
Do you give them a discount on a significant amount of services? Is this company a competitor (or do they have your competitors as clients)? This one is important because no one will damage their relationship with 1 company to strengthen that with another.
The biggest thing is this: What can you offer the recipient of a display in terms of marketing? Marketing has a higher dollar value than most anything, so the best way to get someone to market for you is to have marketing power yourself. That is expensive and takes a lot of work, but once you've established your abilities to produce referrals on a consistent basis, you will have far less trouble getting them where you want them.
Any fabricating company can build these things. They cost about $100 for the stand and whatever print material you have on it. We got ours from a commercial display manufacturer, but our fabrication shop said they would've build them for half the price.

Another important thing is to make sure the print material you are using will be the best for the displays location. A lot of people don't pay attention to that. For example; if you got your display in a car lot showroom. This would not be the best place to advertise mowing, but it may be a great place to advertise a new driveway.
