I'm not a member, but have heard its a total waste of money. From what I've been told, about all you get for the $$$$ spent is a plack to hang on the wall that says your a member. Also, the only time anyone really calls the BBB is to complain, not to check references to see if your legit.

If you do join the bbb and someone does complain to them you have to make it right with them to stay in good standing with the bbb. Its not like going to court you are atomaticly wrong in most cases you have to refund all money and pay all damges which are highly by the custmer. Becuse they call another lco to fix it so its not your cost to fix it. its the other compaines cost and profit and they go with highest bid for the bbb and then higher the lowballer to fix it. 350 buys alot of flyers.

Being a service provider in 8 counties it is not worth considering since membership is unique to each county around here.

My old boss was a BBB member...it never came into play for years, until finally we had this one a-hole customer...he realized we were a BBB member so his new M.O. was to call THEM to complain about every piddly little problem. Seriously the BBB would call with sh** like "Mr. Johnson is upset...you sprayed weed killer last week and he says there is still one dandelion in the backyard" So we would respray then report back to the BBB. This went on and on for like 6 months. The cool part is you get to pay $300 for this BS....

So my advice would be, NO.

If you want to look into any organization like this, then I would consider your local Chamber of Commerce, first. Atleast with them, you get exposure. Your name shows up on alot of literature that is distributed at their functions, they network, and they offer alot of discounts on insurances and services. They get group rates and volume discounts on stuff, so it pays off - especially if you're a member of a larger city's chamber.

I got a phone call the other day from a woman from the BBB she said she was calling to see if I would like to join? She it would cost $325 a yr and I would get a sticker to place on my vehicle. I said thanks but no thanks because 325 for a sticker is to much and then hung up.
