Well I just got done with the body for my new 2006 Ford LCF its a 16' platform with a 4' dovetail and a 5' ramp 18" sides and 8' wide the passenger side fold down to remove any mulch or grass clippings I need to get rid of. The dealership tried to charge me $7000+ for the body alone so I took their check(since I already had the paperwork done) and bought the steel for the body (about $1500) and my uncle, father and myself made the plans and built it in 3 weeks in our free time. So far its been good I like the thought of not having to tow a trailer around unless I really need that extra 18' behind me.

I won't even lie... I'm really jealous of your equipment set-up. You wouldn't happen to be a solo op would you?

Actually I am a solo operator I just got out of the Marine Corp in Aug of 06 I thinking of hiring someone this year though I just have to find someone with the same outlook as I do I dont want someone who just cuts grass I need someone with pride in the job. I'm gonna get some pics here soon the truck is covered in salt right now.

Right on, thats the one we have. I heard rumors that they were making a v8 for the 07 or 08 models just wasn't sure if that was the case.

Thanks for serving our country. I also have a LCF with the Powerstroke v6 and i love it. I got the polished alum wheels tho. The white ones look like crap after a few months.

We have an '06 and love it. That thing goes every day all day. We have a 15' Dump bed on it with 4 ft sides. Awesome truck. Much better than our old gas engine Chevy 3500 dump. The twin turbo V6 has plenty of power loaded and unloaded. The only problem so far was the a/c going out but that was repaired under warranty.

The one thing about the LCF that really suprized me is the turning radius. I sometimes tow a 16 ft landscape trailer and have hit the trailer with the corner of the bed making tight turns.
