How the heck does a brush blade sever a wire that thick?

What I mean is, you don't just bump against a cable that thick with a brush blade and sever the whole thing. It also had that yellow plastic cover around the cable too.

The guy guard still needs trimmed around...If it was a small gauge down guy then I could see it happening...Hell...it DID happen...

Ouch! I never cared much for the steel brush blades. I know they are sometimes needed but I try to advoid using them.

Could be that he had hit it numerous times before. I have seen weedeater rash girdle trees, cut through fence boards, metal fence posts etc. Some guys just don't pay attention to what they are doing.
