I have a 1993 f150 with the 5.0 302 and a 5 speed 2wd 115k. I was looking at a 1991 chevy 1 ton dually with 111k and a flat bed 2wd with a 454 and the guy wants to trade straight up. As long as it all checks out; would this be a trade worth it to me? They are both in the same price range but I wanted to know how much better the 1 ton would be day to day use?

Running a 454 will cost you some money in gas to run. If it was me id stick with what you already have

Looks like a great work truck. Work trucks don't have to be pretty.

The cosmetics are merely the unfortunate side effect of a smart choice when one puts functionality first.

I'm the same way, because it won't stay shiny and pretty for long anyway.
..

I think you will notice a difference in the gears, namely the torque.
250's are not quite as agile as 150's, but they are a bit stronger.

With those older Fords with the 7.3 (guessing on that it has one) general with basic and preventive maintance will last a long time. So see if their's a maintance log for it, take a look at the log, and see what parts have been replaced i.e. injectors, starter, batteries, plugs, filters. so on.

older trucks are not suppose to look pretty, they are there for work only. Unless its like a 54 Ford.
