I used to put a snowblower into an astro van. A 27", 10.5 HP snow blower. I could put it in either door actually, side and back.
I have an astro van sitting in my driveway...it's selling in about 30 minutes...i'lll measure the rear opening and let you know before I sell it...i'll be righr back.
Mine is 44 inches high X 52 inches wide. I used to put all my standard 21in mowers in there with no problem. Let me measure my scag real quick and see if the height would work...hold on
My Scag 32 in walk behind- the highest part of the handles is 41.5 inches. I think, theoretically, my scag would fit in there from a height standpoint. Don't know about the width of the the 48 incher. Do not buy that thing based on my post though. So let me say, my 89 Chevy Astrovan rear opening is 44 high X 52 wide. My scag is 41.5 inches high at it's tallest point. Hope that helps. Ben

My astro had wheel wells inside, I don't think they would have been 4 ft. apart
