I headed out yesterday morning around 8:00. Run into traffic all the way (accidents) I sat in traffic for almost 4 hours on 81 at mile 266 before deciding to head back home.

Looks like it was a great success. Fun was had by all. We had snow up here and most guys were busy plowing. We had a landscape trade show. Bad timing I guess.

I was there on Tues, Wed. Took some classes, did the Techniseal certified applicator class. It was OK. The weather in AC was actually pretty mild on Wed. Just rainy. I was supposed to go back down today, but we had a ton of cleanup to do from the storm.

That sucks that so many missed it because of the snow. Always figures you hope and wish for snow and it falls on the one week you don't want it to. I took the creative steps class today. it was OK, a lot like a step class that i took two years ago though.

I thought the creative step class pretty much sucked. I would have liked for them to show about 50 pics of unique step applications to give me some inspiration, most of what they told me I already knew. One other thing: Did you see the steps where he mentioned "greenest grass ever"? I've seen multiple landscapers use that pic in an ad, and then today. Does anybody show pics in their ad of ep jobs that they haven't done?

So for those of us not fortunate enough to be tucked back into that corner of the frigid east, what is this show? MAHTS?

Your right, thats more honest than i wanted to be. I raised my hand back 05 about that dam step filler block and they said they where working on it. and to hear that it took like a day to get it done pisses me off. do you know how much money i have wasted using terrace wall block to fill steps!

The creative step construction class was very dissapointing. Instead of showing various creative step construction ideas, it was a sales pitch for the filler block.

I would have loved to go, but I just couldn't leave. We had guys out for 30hrs straight applying salt. I wanted to take the CLP, and NCMA certifications, as well as the veneer class. Did anyone take any of these?

I took the NCMA I liked it alot, where I am we don't have much hills and I don't get to build too many walls. For those of you who do them alot the advanced class probably would have been much better.

How many of you Contractors that did attend MAHTS were able to stop by the Evening Star Lighting Booth? EP Henry is clever. They put us RIGHT ACROSS from Snap Edge/Kerr Lighting. It was GREAT! EP Henry is pleased that we are bringing a new concept to the hardscape lighting marketplace.
My friend Dan from Danway Pavers, Jackson NJ won second place in the truck show. Some of Dans paver work has been used in our consumer brochures. I hope future MAHTS shows are in Central NJ and Southern NJ too. They really know how to throw a great after hours party!

MAHTS was great, Allied picked up our bar tab tues night. EP Henry rep. picked up our dinner tab that night. The next night our nursery supplier took us out all night. And then on thursday of course EP Henry treated us again. AND I WON AT CRAPS! I never played before and walked away from MAHTS with more money than I came down with. Very nice!
