Nice setup. I would like to put something together like that by the end of this season. Good luck!

thanks for all the compliments, we try to improve a little every year. We have about 40 acres in shade and evergreen trees.

Nice looking setup. Question (not really related to the board, but sort of..), I own a house in SC. Its my first house. I put in about 6 trees. I bought them all at Lowes (I know, i know...). I will be moving into a new house in about 6-8 months with about a half acre and will want to plant some nice new trees. I want the largest tree I can afford. So my question is, how much do larger trees cost? Is there a general rule of thumb (price per foot)? Is a nursery the best place to get these?

Go directly to a grower.

Also what kind of trees do you want?

I pay $100/in of the caliper to have them spaded. Just look up a tree transplanter or ask you local nursery who transplants trees. I charge $135/inch and all I have to do is call one call and flag the tree's location.

Where could I find information on local growers?

I would like some sort of hardwood. Maybe some dogwoods, etc. I dont know all of the names of trees, but mostly I know I want shade trees.

best bet is to just look whats in stock and pick out what you want.
