View Full Version : Loose wheel

Two studs broke off the right front tire of my 87 chevy. I don't feel comfortable driving anywhere in the truck and would like to know what I need to do to fix it. Is there a way to replace the studs of do I have to replace the disc. Maybe a dumb question but I don't have a lot of experience in this area.

First go to your local parts store and buy 2 wheel studs, remove wheel, remove caliper, remove rotor, pound out remaining studs with a hammer and a brass punch, insert new wheel studs through the back of assembly, put a few washers on each wheel stud, put lug nut on, tighten lug nut until it pulls the wheel stud tight, remove lug nut, remove washers, put rotor back on, put caliper back on, put wheel on, all done:clapping:
