I would like to get a better mower, but have some credit issues. Are there any companies that seem to be easier to get financing with? I would like to get more yards, but need a more reliable mower.

Have you ever financed anything before (equipment wise)? Either way, I would recomend Sheffield Financial.

I have never financed any equipment. I am just part time now, but would like to start doing more.

Huh? So do you want to buy equipment or not?

just go down to your local credit union. Beware of large national chain banks ie chase bank of amexico...a LOCAL bank or credit union will look at YOU not your stupid fico score.

That explains the long line of loan applicants I saw this morning.

Do you have a trade in or any cash you can put down on a new machine? Several of the brands have great financing offers for this year. IMO, sheffeid financial is the way to go. They are pretty easy to get approved.

I want to buy equipment to be able to take on some more yards. I need a more reliable & faster mower to feel comfortable taking on more yards.

What kind of rate can he expect? Also, how piss poor is your credit so he has a frame of reference?

If I don't have the money, then I can't afford it.
Then again, that's something I didn't learn until later in my 30's.

Same here, great deal.
Ultra cool if you have the money sitting in the bank earning interest as it awaits the payments.

Use your current machine. Rent when it breaks down. Acquire another machine once you've saved up the cash.

I can see why he wants a new machine. His current one is 18 years old.

When I bought my Bobcat 61" Predator pro and my Ryan Aerator I used Sheffield. They are excellent and no problem getting it done in less than 30 min and out the door. I agree wih only buying it if you can pay for it but when they are run 0% financine why not keep my cash flow up?

The overall rate will depend on what HIS credit score and history will be. Check out some websites and look at the terms. My Bobcat dealer has some good terms (0% for 18 months, 1.9% for 24 months, 2.9% for 36 months, 0 pay 0 intrest for 6 or 12 months [I forget which])

Also, my credit aint bad at all for my age. My score is in the low to mid 600's.

Yes I know his rate is based on his score. He said he had no credit so he will have a low FICO score. That is why I asked you for the rate you received and your FICO score so he would know what to expect. Do you want to tell us the rate you got from Sheffield?

Low to mid 600's is bad at any age. Don't kid yourself. But it looks like your working on improving your FICO score. Good for you.

When I financed with Sheffield last year, I was to get what ever plan I wanted. I opted for the 3.9% for 36 months. BTW, I was financing $3800 for a mower.

Good Deal. Did you have a cosigner for the loan?

here's what I know. no local bank or credit union will even look at you if your self employed and don't have three years tax returns. 0% deals are great but only for people with solid credit history. try the places others have mentioned on here or just use a credit card as last resort and pay it off as soon as possible. Also if you have any kubota dealers near you they are number one for money in my book. Kubota financial is willing to do what other won't simply for the extremely high resale value of there equipment, they know if you default they won't lose anything. and once u have a history with them they will give you better and better rates than anybody out there.

That logic doesn't really apply to equipment purchases for your business...I know I won't change your mind Topper but for everyone else attempting to run an actual business, there are times when you need to borrow some money so you can make a lot more money.

Your logic makes sense for a consumer, such as not paying for a trip to DisneyWorld on credit when you have no way to repay it...

No I did not! All on my own!
