What's the best way to clean trailor connectors?:confused:

pins--or flats----------pins--internal--22 cal rifle cleaning brush--and steel wool for external pins--flats--steel brush------D O N T use sandpaper!!!!!!!!!!! youll ruin the contact surface of the connectors---

If you have the flat 4 wire plug you can purchase a small brass bristle brush to clean up the male terminals . As for the female terminals you could use a small drill bit and just insert it in terminals and twist it with your fingers while moving in and out. After cleaning you can use a light lubricant to cut down on corrosion. Sometimes you can simply spray with brake-kleener spray if not fouled with dirt.

I have used electrical contact cleaner with good results. Usually I keep mine plugged into a blank connector when I'm not using it. That helps with the corrosion problem.

After you clean them - grease the crap out of them with dilelectric grease - you'll never have to clean them or worry about them again.
