Fertilizer ? in NC

Do we need a liscense here in NC to apply straight Fert. Usually we just put down 10-10-10. We've been doing it for years but I just read a thread saying we now need a liscense, does anyone know for sure?

I actually asked this question to a NCDA employee teaching our pesticide class. You do not need a license for applying fertilizer for pay. Only pesticides and herbicides. So just make sure the fertilizer is without pre-emergence or a post-emergence herbicide.:)

Thats what we always thought but I was worried after reading another thread on here and didn't want to get in trouble with fines or anything. Thanks for the info.
