I like to visit gardens and go on garden tours when I am on vacation. Sometimes they are hard to find and they can keep odd hours but I enjoy it none the less. I am asking for recommendations of gardens you have been to or public gardens in your area.
They do not need to be limited in any way I would love to hear about European gardens and I have heard of some great ones in Canada too. Problem is it is always in passing and never written down. So all I can remember is there are some great gardens in Canada.
I will kick it off by listing The Garden Conservancy www.info@gardenconservancy.org as a great resource for tours of private gardens across the US. I have also been to and would recommend Longwood Gardens in New Orleans (pre Katrina)
Huntington Gardens in Pasadena Calif.
I look foreword to everyones contributions.

I love the azaleas at Callaway. I met Fred Gallo, the Godfather of azaleas there when I was in college.

We went up to the Cleveland Art Museum to see the Monet exhibit this Saturday and got a glimpse of the botanical garden there. I will be making a special trip in the coming weeks to check it out and I'll let you know how it was.
