Probably the 4th best BPB behind Shindiawa, RedMax & Stihl.

If I was going to buy a Echo Back Pack Blower, I would buy the old faithful PB400E.<p>The shortest post I ever made!<p>----------<br>GrassMaster - Home: www.lawnservicing.com<br>My Start Up Page www.lawnservicing.com/startup/

I found that the Echo PB60HT has 960 cfm. CFM is how you measure the power of the blower w/ consideration to the cc's. Right??? well 960 cfm is the most cfm's I've seen on any of those other blowers. Redmax, shindaiwa, stihl all have a considerably less amount of cfm.

I have the ph46ht Echo. Works well for me. Didn't know there was a 60 at the time. The machine is a little heavy though. But I like where the controls are and the power is good. I will probaby buy the 60 in the fall for the leaf season.

BPB CFM's are inconsistant. MPH mean something too.<p>Some measure at the housing, some measure at the end of the tube. Some use longer tubes. <br>The RedMax and the Stihl both blow harder than the Echo. I haven't used a Shindiawa in real world conditions yet, but I'm sure they blow harder as well.

We have 4 PB 60's and 6000's. The oldest of these is 9 years old. The only problem I had with them was an ignition pak which was under warranty. The throttle cables are a litlle tedious to change but overall I like them.<br>David

I have one more question,<p>I decided to instead go with Echo's brand new blower: PB-601 It is the same as the 60HT except for it has the throttle control on the handle on the arm of the blower. The one thing I didn't like about Echo's blowers has been solved!!!!!!!!!! But, the manufacture is having problems because they didn't make enough for the demand. So a bunch more people ordered them right when they came out. So they are really hurrying to catch up the demand now. Do you think this hurry could create recalls, and poorly made blowers????????????<br>

I doubt recalls would happen, echo made the throttle on the blower tube. I had the last year made which would be 2 or 3 yrs. ago, i have had no problem with the throttle or the unit itself

Hello. The most powerful blower on the market is the RedMax EB6200. It blows at 200 mph. I field tested the Robin & Husqvarna and talked with the dealer about the Echo. RedMax is taking the leading. Try it out before you buy anything else! The dealer I bought from also sells Stihl and they mechanic vowed that the Shihl didn't have as much power. I can literally blow a brick around on cement with this blower.<br>

If the Echo backpack blower is like the ones I have used, they are very powerful and don't seem to waste too much fuel. However, one fall back that we ran into is more of a desing flaw. Echo backpack blowers have the throttle lever in the wrong place. It sticks out from the backpack with not supporting bars or instrumentation to protect it. We had two Echo blowers and each of them had this handle break off. We could have welded each back on, but we just let them dangle by the throttle wire instead. Thought it would be a good warning when looking at any backback blower.

RedMaxs' are VERY powerful. But I think the new Shidiawa might be there, too.
