Holy CRAP BATMAN That is the first I have seen that idea. How well does it work. Wet stuff so on?:clapping:

like I said....It works AWESOME!!! dumping isnt an issue-like the swing mount. it works as good as you can expect with wet leaves...its an 18hp. I cant remember it ever getting clogged...the raised discharge chute allows the truck to get totally full..

how does it connect from the pipe to the blower??? doest it just sit on top of it when the bed is lowered???

lawnboy150
03-08-2007, 08:03 PM
yes... when the bed gets lowered-it sits directly on top of the vacuum..there is a flange that makes it sit flush.. the tube in the bed is bolted to the floor.

That is an awesome idea for a leaf loader... you should get a patent.
Is that a tool rack on the front of the trailer?
Nice fleet.

LOL, wouldn't that be ironic!!

that vac setup is VERY creative, i like it, eliminates all the mounting crap on the back end or on the trailer tounge

It is. Pretty good all in all. I work for the fire district full time as a dispatcher. Good steady pay, benifits, retirement, and i do like 30 accounts a week now. I was doing 60 back in 2005.

You'll have to let me know if your looking for more accounts and what areas you are concentrated in. Ive got as may accounts as i can handle and i've got a nice tight route without too much travel so when i get calls for new accounts or areas that i'm not in i try and pass it off to some buddies that are in that area. Makes it worth while for them to grab it if its close to their other accounts.

thanks -I appreciate it very much...however,actually my life changes will involve actually selling the biz & moving on, so if you or anyone you know in the area is interested..let me know.

How do you like the engine? Gas mileage? Power?

lawnboy150
03-09-2007, 03:56 PM
engine is solid....not a powerhouse but It does & has done anything I've ever asked of it...6.5turbo diesel. skid steer & 3 pallets of sod-not bad. I had the rear springs done last fall...holds a lot...no complaints.

i have the same truck and bed set up except i use soil metal sides like a grain body used by farmers. the leaf vac idea is solid man do you have a pic of the tube and how it fits to the bed any gaskets or what the space is. Man that is so good to have it mount low then the hose never gets clogged. when the hose has a bend or even a rise with a bend you tend to get clogs.

You my friend are a lawncare genius! to you I say thank you!

lawnboy150
03-09-2007, 05:57 PM
haha.. thanks drew gemma....the space in between the bed & vac is virtually nothing...the flange comes thru the bed floor & meets the top of the loader almost exactly.. sorry...no pics of that... I'll try in a few weeks.

Gotcha. I'll keep it in mind. Most of the guys i know are maxed already and some have even sold off parts of their routes. Sounds like you had an ideal route, 3 days, 90 lawns. Best of luck with the future endevors.

how much for just the truck. I have a couple accts. and just need a spare truck. I could use some more accts I guess too, if the price is right

thats awsome. I want to build a 12 or 14 ft trailer and put a collection system on it with tall sides and a top. It would make life so much easier.
