I just got my new (to me) 2003 GMC Sierra 2500HD yesterday! I got it for $17,000 out the door from a dealer in New York State. Here's the specs: 2003 GMC Sierra 2500HD 4X4 SLE trim package (power everything except seats, CD player and radio etc), cruise control, 6.0L V8, 4 speed automatic w/overdrive, Regular Cab, Long Bed, plow prep and heavy duty towing package, premium wheels, victory red exterior, charcoal interior, clearence running lights, power exerything except seats, bedliner and more! It has 40,023 miles on it, and brand new tires! This is exactly the truck I've been searching for! I'm LOVING it already!

Here's the pics, what do you think?

Sweet truck! I think you got a hell of a deal on it too. I really like single cab/ long bed trucks. Love the wheels too!

Very nice! I love the looks of the GMC's. I wanted a GMC but I wanted a solid front axle and I like the Fords a tiny bit more but non-the-less thats a sharp truck!

Thanks guys! I wanted the regular cab and long bed so I can plow with it (I'll get a plow sometime down the road) without it being too long, and the long bed so I can get more materials (mulch, topsoil etc) and my ATV into the bed with room to spare. The insurance is also lower for me with the regular bed since I can't fit more than three people in the cab. I'm LOVING my truck already! :weightlifter:

Hm. Your last statement may have swayed me on a new truck when I get one.

I never really though insurance would be that much cheaper, but then again, never did the caculations before.

Yeah, for me it was a difference of like $55-60 per month of insurance between the regular cab or extended/crew.

very nice lookind truck, super sexy, i bought my reg cab long bed for the same reasons, that and its easier to back up while plowing drives with a reg cab, you look right out the back window.

Thanks, I'll try and put a plow on it if I can afford one by next season, my truck all but wiped out my bank account! I was looking at a truck another lawnsite member was selling, but his price was too high, his truck had higher milage, and didn't have as many options I wanted, as my truck has. I believe his truck is still for sale. I'm LOVING my truck!:cool2:

Since you guys think thats a good deal on a 03 without a plow, how about i sell someone a 2006 2500HD with only 8k miles and a 8ft western plow and a warranty for $24k.

Anyway, nice truck man.

red is not my color for a vehicle..BUT, i'm sure not going to knitpick at that GMC!! way to go getting that thing! What's it going to run you per month or did you pay cash? What kind of plow do you want for it? btw...lovin the reg cab, and with the center console, you can really only have one other person in there comfortably!

Mike-

Yeah, I actually love the red color on the truck, to each his own! I paid cash, no payments! I would like to get an 8' Western or Fisher for it, I'll have to see how my finances are towards the summer (when I'd potentially get the plow). I love the regular cab/long bed combination- exactly the combination I was looking for! I'm LOVING my truck!:cool2:

Thanks, Matt

Thanks Jason- I'm loving the truck already!:weightlifter: It is exactly the truck I was looking for! I'll likely be looking to get a plow for it sometime this summer (before "plow rush")- I'll definitely contact you about the dealer! I can definitely use more plowing jobs next winter now that I have my truck!:cool2:

I know the feeling of having a shallow bank accout after making a large purchase. You be glad that you payed it in full and don't have to keep dishing out dough every month for truck payments. That rig will make you cash and then you can get a nice blade.

Everytime I look at the pictures of your truck I like it more and more.

I do have one suggestion, put a leveling kit on it, or turn up the torsion bars one or two turns to level the front out, then it'll look really good!

I'm acually, going to buy a 2500 also. But most likely not until 2009. I really don't care for the new ones, but who knows. In 09 maybe they will look a touch different, or the f250's will be more appealing.

Yeah, if I can afford one for next winter, I'll get a Western 8' pro plow. It's all set for a plow- has plow prep and everything!

It's pretty appealing huh! :) In regard to leveling it- it's pretty level, the picture sort of distorted it. It's pretty high in the front end already (plow prep), but I'll look into the possibility of turning up the tortion bars a little- thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into it.

I'm loving the truck already- I'm sure you'll love one when you get one too!:usflag: I LOVE the body styling on this model year truck, far more appealing than the new body sytling IMO! :cool2: I'm not in love with what they did to the new '07's, but maybe some people like them?

The best truck is one that is paid off. lol. I hate payments. But I also hate fixing crap on older trucks. Its nice to see you have the best of both worlds.

Sweet truck Iowa! What type of mpg do you get hauling around that enclosed trailer with that?

iowa

It doesn't pull the enclosed trailer, our dump does. It gets anywhere from 13 in town to 21 on the hiway/interstate
