Does it usually take awhile to hear back from commercial properties. I put in bids at about 20 places and the bid says its only good for 14 days. Its comming up on that time limit now and I have not heard any thing. Am I out two early for bidding in the midwest or what.

If your weather is anything like ours then yes, kinda early. Typically we start hearing back the 2nd and 3rd week of March. Just keep on top of it but do not make the mistake of calling them every few days. I just put them in and forget about them and keep puting more bids in elsewhere. If I call them back its only once or twice if Im really interested in them.

Why do you give them only 14 days ? That to me would be a turn off, if I was looking at bids. I think that you were referring to lawn care right? I could maybe see if it was a landscaping job where supplies might change, price wise anyways, but not lawncare.

I just send them out and if they want the work done they will call. Its a little to early but not by much we will be mowing down here in about a week, the grass is starting to grow.

With commercial bids plan to put in 500 hours preparing it.. 200 hours calling about it.. and wait 6 months for a signed deal:)
They wait till the day before mowing season starts to sign. Some people knock it out early. But most wait...
I have tried being annoying and I have tried just letting the bids sit on their desks. I like getting their email address. Helps me send suttle reminders without bothering them with a phone call.
