I have a Snapper 250Z 38" cut, 18 hp. Is this mower strong enough to be a full-time mulcher or should I forget it and just use the side chute? :hammerhead:
TIA for responses!

18hp on 36" cut should be plenty for mulching as long as its a v-twin

It's not a V-twin. It's a single cylinder 18 hp BS - 38" cut. Thanks!

We have the same mower with the Ninja mulch kit and it does an awesome job on our lawns (bermuda and fescue). I have yet to find a better mulching mower.

Plenty of horsepower for the 38" we mulch with plate on outlet yearround on all our mowers. Most of the 36" units have 15hp.....if you have any problems simply use less lift on blades.

Do you mean less RMP or a different pitch on the blade?
Thanks!
