Has anyone had a lawyer prepare their service agreement (contract)? We want it to be binding.
This is for companies that we're leary of wanting to cancel after we've serviced them for the summer and winter comes and they decide that they no longer need our services.
If so, what did the lawyer charge for this service, and is there anything else you could tell us about this?

An attorney will charge an hourly rate for their services, probably over $100/hr. However, if you find one who regularly does this kind of work, he/she may have something that can be easily adapted for your needs.
I am curious about your initial post. Anybody wanting a customer to sign a contract/service agreement will want it to be binding. If a document is not considered binding, then why bother with the piece of paper.
Also, if your client wants to give themselves an option out after the Summer, then they will not sign an agreement that says otherwise. If the wording in a document you provide does not include the language that gives them what they demand from the relationship, they will not sign it anyway. Remember, a commercial client is accustomed to working with these documents every day. They know what they want, do not want, and know what to accept in a contract, and what to reject. All your uneasiness about them canceling will not be satisfied by giving them a document they will not sign. In other words, you cannot force a condition through a contract if the client believes otherwise. In this business, nobody is offering anything unique. If they don't like your required conditions, they can merely move on to the next contractor on the list.
