Gate Problem

I have a 42 inch deck that won't fit through gates. The body of my lawn mower does though. I was wondering what i can do besides for getting a new mower. I saw this one thing where the tips of the deck detatch does anybody know any info on that and what i should do

I would recommend against making a similar mechanism Unless,
1. You don't mind taking a saw to your deck:rolleyes:
2.You are not at all concerned with safety
3. You know a fab shop nearby

What type of mower and how much more room do you need. What type of gate , wood or chain?

its an mtd 17 horse B & S with a 42 deck............chain gate

i have 2 mowers a 42" in troybilt made by mtd and a 22" snapper and my friend has a 27" snapper rider and a 22" yard machine

if you are talkin 30 inch gate ,i dont think so. if its 36 then its a pain but you can pick up one side of the mower and shimey it thru.
be sure to lean the oil away from the carburator.good luck TM
