Hour Meter Problems

My hour meter is suddenly not working properly. One minute it works fine and the next it doesn't. It is the old rectangular kind. Any Ideas?

I have the old rectangle one on my HP and it quit on me too.

some hour meters get thier ground through the oil pressure switch. exspecially on kolhers
