Wild Onion's

Got calls from customers woundering what this long looking grass is in my yard. So i went to look there is Wild Onion's Every where looks like someone just through the seeds out and let them grow. Never had this happened befor.
How did they get there? and how do you get rid of them? what works the best?;)
