I just finished cleaning and putting all of my snow removal equipment up, thinking it was finally over. Oh no..... we are under a winter warning and are going to get 4 to 8 inches Friday! Sure, it is money, but I am just tired of the cold and snow all together. I want some green (money and grass wise)!

Too early for mulch anywhere on the east coast, could injure the roots and insulate the frost don't you think? We are supposed to get 15-20 inches here, so it's a good thing we didn't plan on doing much until April 2nd. But my friends and I have our 4 snowmobiles ready to roll one last ride. Tomorrow we are riding all over the place and grabbing some corned beef and cabbage at a few local taverns and a couple beers (many beers once we don't have the drive the sleds anymore). It's days like this I am so thankful we don't have to plow! Catch me if you can!

Rod, I think you're hitting the "panic button". Weve been trhu 40 yds of mulch, did about 80 lime applications and at least 15 clean-ups. I am not going to pu on any salt spreaders unless I have no other choice and there is no way I'm going to hook up a plow again this year unless its in December.
Deny, deny, deny.

I dread the loss of work days until the snow melts. Losing billable work days is not what I need right now. A busy March is a happy April. Screw the money I'll make on snow, I want to be able to pay my property tax next month.

ya, you can look at it either way I guess. make 2G this storm and maybe lose a weeks worth of work. but it could be a hurricane or monsoon rain instead and then we would really be losing money. I'm pretty happy

:usflag: I love the snow because i run a lawn mower sales and service center and this time of the year if it snows it helps me get caught up with my work. So hope we get lots of the white stuff have fun out in your trucks and remember to stay warm. Also i like the snow because it puts money in your pockets and you can spend it in my shop!!!!!!

i love the snow, i make more $/hr than anything else. i can make a weeks worth of mowing wages in one day of plowing! let it snow, if we get enough this will only be the 2nd time this winter. that hurts. and to think, Wednesday i was getting all the mowers ready!

yup, plow was put out of the way but still accesible, the trailer was pulled out of its' winter storage position, and was so close to starting up the mowers. Now, another storm, then warm again next week!

Hey, our trees look just like that but, I'm guessing yours are budding and not snow covered. Calling for 10-20 or 18-24 depending on who you listen to.

Mabey I am not charging enough for mowing or cleanups, because I make lot more plowing than mowing. A few weeks ago we had a decent storm and I made more on that storm than on 2 months of mowing. Don't get me wrong I need to start cleanups, but if we are going to get somthing out of this bring it on.

Personally I would be happy with another snow here, we are still behind in moisture. Looks like it will be a "fun" weekend for a lot of people.

This was by far the worst storm for me. I was in California when it hit and got stranded in chicago for the duration of the storm becuase the airport in albany was shut down. Luckily I do have a back up guy which i spent quite a few hours on the phone with to show him the accoutns with my other drivers, but needless to say there were many many problems. Still sorting the mess out today, got quite a few unhappy clients. When I left for Cali, the long range forcast said nothin but clear and mid 50's so I figured it would be perfect. Then on my 3rd day in lake tahoe, my sister calls sayin we are gettin a storm. It was literraly 75 degrees out 2 days before this snow. This was the one time i was hoping for no snow. And we get dumped on. Talk about a good way to ruin your vacation to Lake tahoe, when you are stuck away, and pretty much helpless to get your accounts done the way you want them done and have to rely on others...Definatly learned a lot of lessons this storm, such as the weathermen are worthless, and I need to find more reliable drivers....guess I just have to make some apology phone calls, and chalk itup as a lesson lived is a lesson learned....spring needs to come here asap! Tired of the white stuff, still waitin for the checks to come in from Febuarys Plowing.....gettin way too tight on money right now. Come on spring....get rid of this white snow so we can start landscaping. we have a ton of work booked already....just waitin to go.
