Spring Tune Ups

Hey.

I am taking all my 2 stroke stuff in to the dealer for tune ups but I figure I will do the big machines my self. When store last year they all had around 50 hours on them. I store them with full tanks of gas and fuel conditioner (seafoam) and nothing else really. I plan to change the oil, clean/re gap the spark plugs, drain all the gas and replace with fresh gas, replace the primary element air filter. Is there anything else I really need to do? Ive been reading the manual and it mentions nothing about fuel filters. This is for a 19 Hp kawi and a 15 Hp kawi.

Sounds like your on the right track, For 6-8 bux you can go ahead and change the fuel filters or let them ride a while longer.
Don't forget to check your belt adjustments and for any loose bolts anywhere, 50 hrs. is a good time to do this.

i change my fuel filters every spring, and then once or twice again during the year.

Thanks guys. My dealer said a couple months without draining the fuel from the tank/carb but I read in the manual that it can cause gums to form. Will this be a problem or is it unlikely that any of this has built up?

when i put the mowers away for the year, i drain the gas. and then i run them dry. i wouldnt want to take any chances with leaving gas in there for 4 months.

Thanks guys. As far as the hydro oil, I am going to change it since I have not done it yet. What do you guys recommend? I belive the manual lists 3 different options: 15 W40, 20w50 and synthetic 15W50. What difference will the different types make? Also roughly how much will the system use?

i think i got Syn 15/50 for my lesco. if im not mistaken i think it takes 3-4 quarts. but i dont remember.
