Question for PJ:
I just purchased a new MFT 16/42 for personal use. I will be mulching and asked the dealer to order the mulching blades (part #794214?) in addition to the mulching kit. He told me not to worry about the blades as the mower comes from the factory with mulching blades already installed. After reading many of the posts here I think he is mistaken. I'm not trying to get into a who's right and who's wrong, I'm only interested in getting the correct blades.

1. Can you verify which blades come stock on the mower?

2. Will I also need to order the "Air Flow Blow Out Kit"?

Thanks for your help!

He is mistaken, the stock blades are side discharge blades.
You need the mulching blades and I would order the blow out kit also.

I recently bought a used 36 inch MFT and I have a huge amount of blow-out from the front when mulching. I bought a mulching blade and it reduces the problem a little, but not much. The dealer said I only needed the larger mulching blade and that I should leave the smaller normal blade in place. Is this correct? I have just ordered a blow-out kit and I hope this cures the problem. Also I have a question about the mulching kit for this model. Does the mulching kit consist only of a metal plate to cover the hole left by removal of the side discharge chute, or does it also include some baffles for under the deck. I notice there are no baffles installed on my machine.
Thanks

Can you verify that I have the correct blade number - part #794214 and what is the part number for the "Air Flow Blow Out Kit" (MFT 42").

Thank You.
