Hey Everyone,
I have narrowed my choices down to the Tanaka THB-2510 and the Redmax HBZ2601. I am a Tanaka fan since I already have a few of their trimmers and really like them. I will be buying sight unseen off the net though so I'd like some opinions. I also read in another thread that the Tanaka HH blower is actually a Redmax blower....Any thoughts? If they are the same I wonder why the specs differ. If it's true it makes my decision very easy:)

The specs are as follows,
Tanaka
24cc 1.3HP
304cfm
130mph

Redmax
25.4cc (couldn't find HP rating)
367cfm
157mph

Thanks a ton!
J.

I just purchased a redmax EBZ 7001 and love it. It is very powerful and out blows any of my stihl bp's. Never used tanaka before though.

I agree about the Stihl. I wasn't happy with the SH85 so I want to get something else. It needs to be able to vacuum too so these are the two best options I found.

I have never used the HBZ2601, but I have the EB7001....GREAT machine. I would recomend the Redmax.

The Redmax handheld blowers have a lot of power. I have hardly any experince with Tanaka as there are very few dealers who sell them. How is the serviceability of both brands? Do they have multiple dealers for each brand or does one brand over power the other.

Tanaka and Redmax are both great brands but dealer support is always a big factor.

There are local dealers for both. Hopefully, I won't need it though:)

Is the Redmax HBZ2600 the same as the HBZ2601? Most local dealers still have the 2600 but I don't see it on the Redmax website. I'm thinking maybe just a difference in model years but who knows......

Thanks,
Joe

Maybe they changed to a Stratochraged setup or something on the redmax from the 00 to the 01???

I have never used the Redmax so I cant say anything about it. The Tanaka is nice and very light. They take more abuse than they look to be able to. They start easily.

One big negative on the Tanaka is no throttle lock...or lever for setting the throttle at a certain point and leaving it. You basically need to stay on the trigger.

If you plan to vacuum the Tanaka has a metal shredder in it now. Should come standard unless your dealer has some older stock. Dunno how much better it makes it but it is there.

I called Redmax and they told me that the 01 is just a newer model, blower itself is exactly the same. This is good since the 00 is easier to find.

Neither the Redmax or Tanaka have throttle lock so no big deal there. I just like power and the Redmax seems to have more. I am loyal to Tanaka though so I am undecided and am curious if the difference would be noticeable in operation. Either company offer test drives like Shindaiwa??
