So this isnt exactly mowing equipment but i couldn't believe my eyes when i saw this train on my way back to college today. We counted at least 60 brand new JD combines, and that was before the train dissapered under the bridge so there was definitly more.

Yep, these high grain prices are selling lots of new farm equipment. That, plus much of the plains has been under sever drought for a long time, but this year is actually WET for a change. Lots of high hopes for this years wheat crop out here.

i don't think they are from china. They were in cleveland and seemed to be heading west. Maybe time to buy som JD stock. Figure those are about $250,000 a piece.

Duekster, why all the **** talkin on deere? Maybe someone is a jealous? Deere makes a great machine and is "American" as they get. We are in the age of global economy. Get used to it.

All those are made in the U.S.A.!!! I think those would sink in China's rice fields. They've got a billion hands to harvest grain! LOL.

That is why I started buying JD stock 6 months ago. The ethanol push is going to require a ton of new equipment, alot of it will be green......

Whatever there pal! Those bad boys are made in Moline , ILL (Quad Cities). Just thought I would get you on the right track. Deere also landed a large military contract producing 300 payloaders for sites all over the U.S.

i just had to jump in with a commit, i am a john deere fan, but i was disappointed last month when i was looking at a john deere tractor and seen the sticker on it and it said made in osaka japan, it was a small tractor but i wasn't happy that it was made in japan. i even seen 2 20ft deere brush hog decks that said made in mexico. so just remember they are not always made in usa

Those pics are kinda what I envision heaven to be! I use to work on a very large horse farm(400 acres of pasture and 15 miles of trails cut 4x ayear) all we ever use was John Deere tractors (8 in all,6 2wd and 2 4wd) and 1 old ford tractor we use to pull the manure spreaders with. :)

the small tractors are made overseas so that Deere can keep up with domestic demand...everything bigger then a 4720 ( i think thats the cut off) is still made in the US...i could be wrong about the 4720, it might be even smaller then that, i'm sure someone will let me know...

4000 series are made in Augusta, GA. 7000, 8000, and 9000 are made in Waterloo, IA. The 5000 and 6000 series are made over seas. Combines are made in Moline, Il.

There are some red ones on there too.
Yanmar actually manufactures some of John Deere's compact tractors, which has been the case for many years now. I'm not sure how long this will last since Cub Cadet and Yanmar are building tractors together, but we'll see. I've toured the Augusta plant. It was several years ago, I think when the 70 and 55 series compact tractors were being made.
John Deere recently purchased a tractor manufacturer in China, Ningbo Benye Tractor & Automobile Manufacture Co. Ltd., but it's to serve the Asian market and not to import into the US.
