I have this pond I did and installed a planting and a bench. The customer has added aftermarket goldfish,I didn't install the fish and someone is maintaining the water- eagles come and eat the fish every couple days. What have other people done to prevent birds from preying on your fish? How about racoons and the like? I am thinking of wire in the tree canopy to deter them, firearms are not an option. I also have placed bird shadows on areas as well as dummy owls and scarecrows, all to no avail. What next?

Do nothing -
That sounds a heck of a lot more entertaining than fish alone! One of my customers wants fish in his pond for that very purpose.
Otherwise, a large arbor, or a structure with screening may be necessary.

you want to come install a garden in my yard that will attract eagles. That would prob be the coolest thing ever to happen here.
