I have not a clue.I'm hoping someone here may be able to guess. I would say at least 15 years ?

That is a beautiful crepe - its unusual to find one that apparently never has been chopped . Has a really nice look , even without foliage . I would guess 15 - 20 years old.

posts some pics in the fall in bloom. I have never seen a crepe that large. most last 5 years and get cut. pity. I can't even get my little 2 year old crepe to grow. it has been hacked so many times due to kids breaking branches, makes me sick.

Nice tree. Everyone here also whacks them down. My wife wanted me to cut ours down in Jan. I said no way I want that to ge huge. I cut 1" off of each end to promote new growth. Its budding away now, started last week.

My guess on age is exactly 19 years, 7 months, 2 weeks, 5 days, 18 hours old.

I will definitely get photos of it during budding and then blooming. I noticed that the "spent" pods from last year's blooming were much larger than usual. It looks like last years blooms may have been larger as opposed to being plentiful. The area is partially sun now, so I'm not sure if the larger pods would be due to lack of full sun, age or lack of ever being murdered. I have others on this street that have not been murdered as well. I will get more photos.
