kawasaki igniter problem

I have a kawasaki fb460v with no spark. The coil checks out fine but the igniter has 1.2 kohm across both terminals in either polarity. I think that means it is bad but i am not sure. I hate to spend $80 bucks on a part that is not bad . any help would by great thanks

RestroRob - thanks for the help. However, I have one more question. In the table 'control unit resistance', what does the ON stand for before the resistance reading? Do you have any idea? Thanks again! Jonh

thanks for the help i ordered the igniter.I will let you know if that was the problem.
