Take that immobilizer off and work through the pain!!! Thats how you get the job done! Ok, thats really not my advice. Man, it sure is a busy time of the year around the metroplex to have a broken wrist slowing you down. Maybe hire somebody to help you out for 3 or 4 weeks? That way you can let the wrist heal correctly without doing further damage.

A few years back I dislocated my shoulder.Took about 3 days off and back to work. Took 6 months for it to heal.

Sorry to hear about your wrist lurch.
But if this is your business, and you are going to be supporting yourself solely from it, then it's time to think about staying away from dangerous hobbies.
If it's your livelihood, then you shouldn't be putting yourself at risk unnecessarily.
That's just like ben roethlisberger starter quarterback for the steelers riding a motorcycle without a helmet. :dizzy: :hammerhead:

Sorry to hear about the broke wrist. I broke my left wrist in a bad crash when I used to race quads. I then cracked the other bone in the same wrist about 6 months later- while practicing on a track.I know it sounds like I wasn't very good but I've got the trophies to prove otherwise. :clapping:

Are you in a cast or just a sling? The bone starts healing in 24 hours so if you are in a cast- you could take a couple of days off and then get back to work. I hope its not your right hand- I guess you could crank your trimmers with your left hand. Good luck.

i broke my left wrist, sprained the right, scratched up my stomach and thigh and my neck and back are a little sore...i went over one tabletop and thought i had enough speed to finish off the course with a step-up but i didn't have enough speed....i endoed into the face of the step-up and went over the bars....the quad followed and rolled me about 3-4 times...pretty nasty crash....

luckily this is my part-time gig...hopefully my clients will understand....any advice how to word it to my clients as to why i'm not able to cut their lawns?

btw...i use w/b

need to get a good buddy or wife or brother in law or who ever, to help though the rough spots for awhile....i hope your rideing a z, not a walkbehind...

maybe someone around here would be cool enough to help you out for a while, maybe put an ad in the employment section here...

dont get discouraged... your being tested..... the crucible... you can do anything......adjust and adapt.... your smart, if you got a fellow marine helping you, this will work out.....

but be advise of the fact that you will have to pay them... its the right thing to do....he probably wont accept anyway.... but you know

That'll be rough using a WB...especially if it's a belt drive. But as with most things, if there's a will there's a way. At least you can walk. A broken ankle would be more problematic

Wrist and ankles are never the same after you break them, I had my Right ankle reconstructed December 7th.....Still very tight and not strong at all.....Simple advice, don't fool around with it..you may think....ahh it doesn't hurt to do this, but it may not set right and you'll be back at the doctors, they'll have to rebreak it $$$ (Or just stop by I'll hook you up nice).......DON'T FOOL Around with it!!!

I broke my radius and ulna totally in half 3 years ago during practice at a local dirtbike race. Maybe your break is not that severe but if you broke it bad, there is no way you are going to be able to do any work. It seems tempting to go out there and do what you can but you gotta be smart about the choices you make with your bones, especially somthing that is connected to one of your most valuable assets in your hand. I got a titanium plate and 7 screws and my wrist is back to being in good shape now. Only hurts when I do certain free weight lifts or when a crow bar slips and hits the exact spot the plate is, like what happened to me yesterday.

i used to work for a guy and broke my wrist on a faulty mower(2 1/2 yrs ago), to this day and still hurts and im still fighting him in court over it. i found it best to take it easy on that hand by either using a rider, hold a trimmer with a strap and so on.

Which bone(s) in your wrist did ya break?

Broke both of mine in 2001. Ignored doctors advice and went back to work, ended up needing major surgery to repair it. Lost about 6 mos of my life, and it took forever to get to play the guitar again.

Good luck.

Rest up.
