Recently, I saw a TV commercial for a local auto body shop. They had a customer saying that he took his car with a rattling door pannel to the dealer for repair and got an estimate. He then said that he went to this particular shop, where they gave him coffee and fixed his car FREE of charge.

Now, I can see their point, but do you suppose it will lead to a bunch of people comming in wanting little stuff done for free on their cars? I mean, if they did it for him, why not someone else?

If you still remember the ad and the name of the company in a week then it is good advertising.

That's the hook. It's up to the sales people to weed out the looters looking for freebies and to close the others. Get em' in the door, and let good sales people and statistics take care of the rest.

Smart.
