What would be your choice between those two for all type on mowing condition.

Kohler has more torque but use more gas
Kawa less torque but better on gas

and what about the longevity of theses engines? If I'm putting 20-25 hours a week on those engine.

Thanks

I would go for the Kohler any day of the week. My reason being is all the kawis we have owned have been underpowered and never lasted more than 1,500 hours and most of the time less than that. All our Kohlers have been very powerful and not a single one of them have lasted less than 2,500 hours. Now I will say that any engine can fail at any time but its been our experiance that the Kohlers work best for us.

The Kaw is liquid cooled opposed to the kohler. With the Hours you are putting on the machine I would say the mix between fuel economy and stuff like that I would get the KAW. good luck...

I have nothing against Kohler, never had a problem with one, never. But the 30 has had some carb problems and Exmark dropped them like a hot potato. Numerous complaints about hard to start, hard to enguage blades without stalling, adaptor kits helped some but not all cases. My advice buy Kohler if you want, good engine, but stay away from the 30.

Kawi> Kohler. My kawi's are GREAT, my favorite engines by far.

Cheers

I'd recommend the Kawasaki. I've had very good experiences with Kawasaki engines and I've seen problems with Kohlers.

I would go with the Kawasaki, the 30hp Kohler hasn't solidified it's reputation yet after last year's carb problems. Better to be safe than sorry.
